Tunisia arrests blogger, Yassine Ayari for 'defarming' army officers
Tunis – Tunisian authorities have arrested a blogger who has been critical of the party of newly elected president Beji Caid Essebsi, as he returned home from France, his lawyer said Thursday.
Yassine Ayari, 33, was detained overnight at Tunis-Carthage airport and whisked to jail in line with a court verdict pronounced against him last month.

2 arrested with human skull; 4 robbery suspects die in auto crash

100 more soldiers for court-martial

About 100
more soldiers are to be court-martialled by the Nigerian military for a number
of offences relating to the on-going fight against Boko Haram terrorists.
An online
journal, Premium Times reported that its sources disclosed that 118
soldiers have been transported from Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, to face
charges in Abuja, a week after 54 soldiers were sentenced to death for refusing
to fight Boko Haram.

Baby falls off mum's back, crushed by truck
A heavy
duty truck, conveying crates of soft drinks, yesterday, at the Okorodafe
Roundabout in Ughelli, Delta State, crushed a four-month-old baby girl, who had
fallen off the back of her mother travelling on a commercial motorcycle,
popularly known as Okada.
According
to witnesses, the mother of the baby, who is in her 30s and simply identified
as Ese, was said to have been struggling to adjust the wrapper with which she
strapped the baby to her back, while the Okada was in motion.

Bauchi market blast, many feared dead

A bomb
explosion, today, ripped through the Central Market in Bauchi.
The
number of casualities cannot be ascertained yet, but eyewitnesses said
that many people were killed with many others injured.
