Crowd queues behind crashed truck begging for dead birds

It was bizarre and unbelieving as people queued behind a truck that crashed, weekend, in Benin, Edo State with over 1200 poultry birds, begging for dead birds to be given to them.

The driver of the vehicle who was said to have sustained injuries, was taken to an unknown hospital when newsmen visited the scene at Adolor Juncture in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State.

The truck driver, who was said to have driven throughout the night on Benin-Ore-Lagos Expressway, it was suggested, may have dozed off and lost control of the truck, said Ms. Amenze, a trader.

“I pity the driver, so many birds died,” she said.
