Overland plane from Abuja crash-lands in Ilorin


An Overland plane carrying 59 passengers and 4 crew members crash landed this evening Saturday November 29th in Ilorin, Kwara state. The plane, coming from Abuja, was said to have overshot the runway after it landed.

Nkiru Sylvanus denies the reportedly collapse of Imo Film Village building




There are strong indications that the multi-milion naira Imo Film Academy which is constructed by Rochas Okorocha-led administration in Imo State, has collapsed.

The Academy,located within the premises of the Imo State College of Advanced Professional Studies, ICAPS, along Egbu Road, Owerri, allegedly collapsed less than two weeks after it was commissioned by the state government.

The Limpopo master partied with the housemates for 30mins out of the 1 hour party which started at 8:00PM CAT.

Limpopo master, I should say, lived short of expectation as he was seen standing most of the time. Mahnn! Where are those Limpopo moves? We expected more dance steps than what you gave.

Youths kill 30 in failed Borno terrorists attack



No fewer than 30 suspected members of Boko Haram were killed  Thursday by vigilante youth, popularly called Civilian JTF, when the sect members, armed with sophisticated wehttps://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=8549230452388908127#editor/target=post;postID=589254379378266591apons, attempted to lay siege to Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State.

Unconfirmed report also revealed that about five of the Civilian JTF members sustained minor injuries with no reported death during the encounter, which lasted about three hours.
Kareto, a community in Mobbar Local Government Area and home town of former governor, Mohammed Goni, was also attacked.

Policeman kills first class graduate in Kaduna



Thirty-year-old first class graduate of Economics from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Moses Murtala Aminu was shot dead by a constable with the Nigeria Police. Moses had on Sunday, left his No. 67 Ahmadu Ahidjo Street, Narayi High Cost family residence for a party in Barnawa, Kaduna State.

According to his friend and eyewitness, the police constable who was identified as Alex Okpe was beating up Aminu’s girlfriend outside the party venue when he tried to intervene. At that point, the constable got angry, reached for his jeans trousers, brought out his gun and fired, killing Aminu on the spot. The constable also shot in the air as he escaped on his motorcycle.

Policeman kills an Okada rider at Lekki

The incident that happened yesterday at Lekki around 12 noon was terrible.

A uniformed policeman killed an okada rider(public motorcyclist) on the ground that he was disobeying the law and order of the State as okada riding has been banned in the State for a while now.

The incident disrupted the smooth flow of traffic as commuters were trapped in traffic.

An eye witness said people ran helter-skelter for their dear lives at the time of the incident.

Sierra-Leon Ebola burial teams dump dead bodies on street



Burial workers in eastern Sierra Leone were sacked Tuesday after snatching Ebola victims from a mortuary and dumping their bodies in the street in a pay dispute.

The workers, who were on a one-day strike over non-payment of risk allowances, left at least a dozen corpses around the public hospital in the city of Kenema, once one of the epicentres of the epidemic.
“I am disappointed that they displayed the bodies because of the quest for money,” Paul Conteh, head of the National Ebola Response Centre, told reporters in the capital Freetown.
“They ignored the dignity and respect for the dead. I am not against them withholding their services but this is unacceptable.”

Ebola infected Italian doctor arrives Rome



An Italian doctor who contracted Ebola in Sierra Leone arrived Tuesday in Rome, where he will receive specialist treatment, media reported.

The doctor, the first Italian to be infected with the disease, was flown into the military airport of Pratica di Mare, outside the capital.

The doctor, who reports say is a 50-year-old man, was transported in a specially sealed unit on board a military plane, TV pictures showed.

He will be hospitalised at the Lazzaro Spallanzani national institute for infectious diseases.
The Italian health ministry said he has not yet developed feverish symptoms and his general condition is good.

The doctor was working for the charity Emergency at a clinic for Ebola victims when he contracted the disease, which has killed nearly 5,500 people in its latest outbreak in west Africa.

44-year-old woman delivers quadruplet after waiting for 18 years


A 44-year old woman, Mrs Clara Dominique, who has been looking for a child for 18 years since marriage, was delivered of quadruplet last Saturday in Benin, the Edo State capital.

PDP Senators begin impeachment moves against Jonathan


Some Peoples Democratic Party’s senators on Monday started impeachment moves against President Goodluck Jonathan over what they described as the high level of impunity and corruption allegedly being condoned by his administration.

Investigations by Punch revealed that the PDP senators had started compiling impeachable offences against the President.

Assaulted Ugandan baby recovers, maid faces 15 years imprisonment for attempted murder


The Ugandan baby who was viciously assaulted by a maid in a video that went viral last week has recovered from her injuries and is back in the loving arms of her parents. (pictured above)

According to Ugandan NTV report, the house-help, 22year old Jolly Tumuhirwe faces up to 15 years in jail for attempted murder. The lady appeared at Nakawa Magistrates Court in Uganda on Nov. 20th after police concluded their investigations. The police say she was charged under the Anti-torture Act

P-Square lose father

Popular twin musicians, Peter and Paul Okoye, aka, P-Square have lost their father. The duo's father, Mr Okoye, died yesterday, 24th November. He was said to have fallen and died while going for his physiotherapy session having gone through a knee surgery that came out successful.

The death was unexpected to the family.

This is two years that the musicians lost their mother.

Today, I saw a man from afar alight from his car, walked round to the other side of the car to open the door for someone. Thinking it was his woman that he was opening the door for, I was actually pleased that at least we still had some romantic men here and that there was still hope after all for those of us who would want to have such romantic men.

FG to cut petrol subsidy by half in 2015


The Federal Government has said it plans to cut subsidies on petroleum products by half next year after sharp falls in global crude prices, spurred a reversal of its 2015 budget downwards.

President Goodluck Jonathan submitted the revised budget figures to lawmakers last week, proposing to spend 458.68 billion naira ($2.59 bln) on petrol subsidy in 2015, down from 971.14 billion naira presented for 2014.

Wealthy Nigerians spend N34.9 billion on maintenance of their private jets




Wealthy Nigerians are living large, with the richest among us shelling out billions of naira on private jets and their maintenance.

Interestingly, the 250 private jet owners in Nigeria splash an average of N34.9 billion annually to maintain their expensive toys. Checks revealed that aside splashing over N1.8 trillion to acquire their jets, they spend an estimated N9 billion annually as salary to their expatriate pilots and N900 million annually to the crew, while a whopping N25 billion is splashed on general maintenance annually by them.
