Lagos beaches wear new look for Christmas and New Year celebrations



Beach operators in Lagos have refurbished and decorated beaches in the state for fun seekers to have value for their money during the Christmas and New Year festivities.


The beaches were upgraded and expanded to accommodate more fun seekers.
Some of the beaches are Elegushi Private Beach, Lekki; Oniru Private Beach, Victoria Island; Eleko Beach, Ibeju Lekki; and Suntan Beach Badagry.

Mr Yusuf Elegushi, the Managing Director of Elegushi Private Beach, Lekki, said that the company equipped the beach with more safety measures.

“The safety of lives is paramount to the company; therefore, we decided to equip the environment with necessary safety equipment.

“First aid materials, life jackets and caution signs are some of the equipment.
“The safety equipment will assist in preventing casualty that may occur during the festive periods, “ Elegushi said.

The Managing Director of Oniru Private Beach, Mr Sola Oniru, said that the management would maintain international standards of operations to make the beach one of the best centres for relaxation.

“The ongoing development is to make the beach an attractive centre for fun seekers and tourists.
“Among the facilities provided are maximum security, eight more bars, additional two halls, four extra beach houses and more life guards.

“We have also provided the necessary equipment to safe lives in case of emergency, “ Oniru said.

Mr Lawal Akodu, the Spokesperson for the Eleko Beach, said that the management had put in place a lot of activities that would thrill visitors.

Akodu said that the beach would witness a higher level of patronage by picnickers.
 
Mr Shewanu Hastrup, the Facility Manager, Suntan Beach Badagry, said that the beach was undergoing rehabilitation “to make it more user-friendly’’ during the Christmas and New Year festivities.

“The management will continue to ensure that the security and safety of fun seekers at the beach were guaranteed, “ he said.

Hastrup urged fun seekers to abide by the rules and regulations of the management and observe caution signs for safety of lives and property.
