As part
of efforts to to enhance agro-allied training of corps members posted to the
state, the Lagos State Government, has donated an agricultural land, at
Itoikin, Epe to the National Youth Service Corps, Lagos State, under the
scheme’s Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, SAED programme.
This is
even as the state government also donated a new Ultima Nissan Ultima vehicle to
the scheme for monitoring and inspection of corps members by the State
Secretariat.
The Lagos
State Coordinator of the NYSC, Mrs. Adenike Adeyemi, who disclosed this at the
Closing Ceremony and End of Orientation Course of the 2014 Batch ‘C’ Stream II
corps members deployed to the state, pointed that the kind gesture is part of
the exceptional assistance enjoyed by the scheme from the Lagos State Governor,
Babatunde Fashola.
At the
ceremony where no fewer than 3, 603 corps members were churned out to various
places of primary assignment, Adeyemi said: “I wish to thank the Executive
Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Fashola for the exceptional assistance
enjoyed by the scheme.
”Worthy
of note is the recent release of a brand new vehicle for monitoring and
inspection of corps members by the State Secretariat, allocation of
agricultural land at Itoikin, Epe to enhance agro-allied training of corps
members under the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development
(SAED) programme and the constant support in ensuring the Orientation camp is
very conducive for corps members’
