Do Nigerian men open the car door for their women?

Today, I saw a man from afar alight from his car, walked round to the other side of the car to open the door for someone. Thinking it was his woman that he was opening the door for, I was actually pleased that at least we still had some romantic men here and that there was still hope after all for those of us who would want to have such romantic men.

My disappointment was equal to non when I got closer and saw that it was actually a sickly looking old woman probably his mum who was probably too weak to open the door by herself.

Now, I'm wondering if Nigerian men still open the car door for their woman(that's if they ever did), hahahaha! I ask because I've never witnessed any except in the movies.

I've asked some men this question in the past and I got answers like:
"Why would I open the door for her, doesn't she have hands?"
"This is Africa, we are not Oyibo."
"I will not spoil my wife like that"
"Women like to form when we men are around. If she can't open the door by herself, then let her remain there"
...And etcetera.

If you are a man and you do open the car door for your woman, I will like to please identify with you. And if you know someone that does it, we would want to know also.

Hey guys, it's time you started adoring us like that. It makes us feel special. Forget whether or not it's our culture to do so, after all, cars aren't 'our culture' as well, or are they?
